This olive-tree is very resistant to drought as it needs very little water. It can live exclusively outside with hardly any maintenance at all.
For this reason, your olive-tree can be kept in a pot outside for many years, to ornament your terrace, balcony or garden.
The following tips which will be included ith your order will help the recipient to take care of this olive-tree:
- In a pot:Place it in a sunny spot, out of the wind.
Water your olive-tree moderately and wait until the soil is really dry in between (around every three days).
Never leave any water in the drainage dish, as any excess will cause the leaves to drop.
If the temperature drops for any length of time below -5°C, bring your olive-tree in to a light, unheated spot or cover it with a winter casing.
- Planted in the ground: Choose a sunny spot away from the wind, in dry, well-drained soil.
Be aware that young trees with a trunk of less than 10 cm diameter do not like temperatures between -6°C to -10°C and for adult trees with thick bark, -12°C to - 20°C. If there is a strong frost, cover your tree with a winter casing to protect it from the cold.
