The following care tips, which will be included with your order, will help your recipient enjoy this superb Paphiopedilum, or Venus Slipper, orchid for as long as possible:
. It requires just a little attention to flower in the spring and the autumn.
- Exposure: Light but not direct sunlight, protected from draughts.
- Temperature: Between 12° and 22°C.
- Watering: The soil should never be allowed to dry out. If the plant produces no new shoots, water a little less frequently, but generally, once a week is sufficient; taking care not to leave any water standing in the plant pot.
- Repotting: Every 2 or 3 years, in the spring, when the new shoots appear. Use a special orchid pot.
- Fertilizer: Too much fertilizer can easily burn the roots, so once or twice a month will suffice.
- Outside: This orchid will also thrive outside during the summer months. You can place it put it out on a balcony or terrace or in your garden, somewhere with plenty of light protected from direct sunlight.
