Description
A tree to plant as a family, at child height!
The dwarf pomegranate ‘Chico’ is a small tree that never goes unnoticed: compact enough to stay at child height, it is covered in bright orange flowers all summer long. A living gift for anyone who loves a colourful garden, young and old alike.
Carnation-like flowers all summer long
The dwarf pomegranate ‘Chico’ (Punica granatum ‘Chico’) has small, glossy green opposite leaves that turn golden in autumn. Its bright orange double flowers look like carnations and bloom throughout the summer. Grown for its flowers, this variety rarely bears fruit. It loves full sun and well-drained soil, and once established it copes with both heat and drought.
Plant, water, watch for flowers: an adventure to share
Digging the hole, setting the young tree in place, watering it, spreading the mulch: every step is easy to share with children as they discover how a tree grows. Then it’s their turn to keep an eye on watering in the first year, look out for the first buds, count the flowers as they open and measure its height each season. A young gardener in charge of their own tree, and proud to see the colour arrive.
It comes with:
A dwarf pomegranate ‘Chico’ in a pot, approximately 32 cm tall including the pot
A care leaflet explaining what to do at each stage
