Description
A tree to plant as a family and watch shoot up!
Eucalyptus gunnii is the tree for the impatient: it grows so fast that children can see the difference from one season to the next. A living gift with silvery-blue foliage, for anyone who loves to see things change, young and old alike.
Silvery-blue foliage with a lovely scent
Eucalyptus gunnii, also known as cider gum, is an evergreen tree with a conical shape. Its round, silvery-blue leaves give off a refreshing scent, and its small creamy-white flowers appear in umbels from summer to autumn. It is one of the hardiest eucalyptus varieties: down to -15 °C, and as low as -18 °C once mature.
Plant, measure, prune: an adventure to share
Digging the hole, setting the young tree in place, watering it, spreading the mulch: every step is easy to share with children as they discover how a tree grows. Then it’s their turn to measure its height every month, crush a leaf to smell its scent and keep an eye on watering during the first few years. At the end of March, it can be cut back hard, every year or every other year, to keep its foliage round and blue: an annual date not to be missed.

A eucalyptus gunnii in a pot, approximately 75 cm tall including the pot
A care leaflet explaining what to do at each stage
