Description
A tree to plant as a family and watch grow for years!
The holm oak is a tree of patience: it grows slowly, stays green all year and moves through the seasons quietly, before becoming, in time, a majestic tree. A living gift for those who like to take their time, young and old alike.
Evergreen foliage and, one day, acorns
The holm oak (Quercus ilex), also called the evergreen oak, is the oak of Mediterranean landscapes. Its dense foliage stays green all year and, over the years, it will bear acorns in groups of three. It likes sun as much as shade, accepts any well-drained soil, even poor or chalky, and withstands drought as well as cold, down to -15 °C.
Plant, water, wait: an adventure to share
Digging the hole, setting the young tree, watering it, spreading the mulch: every step is easy to share with children, who discover how a tree grows. In the first year, it is up to them to keep up the watering; after 2 to 3 years, the holm oak no longer needs it. Measure its height each season, watch for its spring shoots, and take pride in saying “we planted it ourselves”.
It arrives with:
- A holm oak in a nursery pot, about 45 cm tall including the pot
- A care leaflet so you know what to do at each stage
