Description

Paul Signac, View of Saint-Tropez, sunset at the pine forest

Sunset on the port of Saint-Tropez represents one of Paul Signac's most famous landscapes. On this canvas, the violet mountain contrasts with the orange allure of the sky and sea. The village, a central element of this composition, is thrown into relief. The painter highlights the play of subtle shades ranging from red to yellow, so you may believe there to be a ravaging fire burning behind the mountains.
A master of pointillisme, the artist deconstructs light with strokes of vivid colour, bringing a bright quality to the canvas. Whilst he lived in Saint-Tropez, Signac's painting became more luminous. The mediteranean light influences his colour palette, whilst revitalising his painting style.
Inspired by this painting, this bouquet mixes a blue and purple colour scheme with scabiosa and statice. The little dashes of red and orange are incarnated by the deep purple roses and red masterwort. These elegant flowers give a light and airy look to this floral composition, mirroring the nebulous clouds in the painting. Even when it is absent, the sun, this primordial fire, remains the main element of these two compositions.

Aquarelle's artisan florists and the Ecole du Louvre have collaborated to create a capsule collection of flower bouquets inspired by the works of art of the master painters.
In the same way that a painter uses canvas, paint brushes and paints for their creation, our florists have conceived and composed the bouquets of the collection with a fresh floral colour palette.
They apply the same approach, using similar gestures to create a unique and personal creation.
The aim? To put art at the heart of the everyday, in order to discover or rediscover paintings through bouquets which translate the colours, style and spirit of the artwork.
