The Harlequin rose bouquet, a timeless piece by Aquarelle

The rose bouquets are hand tied by artisan florists in Aquarelle’s warehouse in Brasseuse, a small village in Oise.

Composed with red, orange and yellow roses, the fair trade Harlequin rose bouquet is available in various sizes: from a mini bouquet (15 stems) up to one with 70 stems, it’s Aquarelle’s best-selling bouquet, perfect for wishing someone a happy birthday, saying thanks or for cheering up someone you love.

The origin of the name ‘Harlequin’

The Harlequin is a character trope in the Italian Commedia dell’Arte, dating back to the 16th century. The Harlequin is characterised by a black mask and chequered costume, symbolic of the numerous aspects of his personality. Aquarelle’s multicoloured Harlequin rose bouquet is inspired by this historic character, with vividly coloured roses!

The fair trade roses in Aquarelle’s Harlequin Bouquet

Aquarelle’s Harlequin bouquet is created with fair trade roses. Since 2016, Aquarelle has sold fair trade rose bouquets produced by our Ethiopian farming partners. For each rose purchased, Aquarelle donates 15% of the proceeds to a charitable fund supporting social projects and since 2019, Aquarelle has contributed to the financing of an educational bursary for the children of Ethiopian flower pickers.

How to look after a Harlequin rose bouquet

Roses will last for approximately 7 days. In order to keep your Aquarelle rose bouquet as attractive as the day of its delivery, here are a few tips to follow:
  • Cut the stems of the bouquet before placing in the vase
  • Remove the exterior petals that give protection to the buds during transit
  • Add the sachet of nutrients in the water after 3 days
