Description

Caspar David Friedrich,Chalk cliffs on the island of Rügen, 1818, Oskar Reinhart Museum, Winterthour

Caspar David Friedrich, doesn't he embody the German genius, the symbol of Romanticism? This painter depicts on canvas storms and passions, feelings of infinity and immensity, typical of the inner feelings of the romantic man.
Accustomed to depicting dark gothic ruins like "The Dreamer", the painter abandons here the remains of religious buildings in favour of monumental, protruding, fantastic and ever-changing cliffs, dressed in a dazzling white worthy of the white mini santinis. In the foreground, two trees delimit the composition while occupying the upper part of the painting with their thick foliage, represented by the myrtle and the eucalytpus in the bouquet. The watery expanse, skimmed with streaks of idyllic pink, is symbolised by the carnations. The three figures, especially the two men, presented as black spots suspended in the landscape are echoed in the cosmos with their subtle chocolate scent. Finally, the red chrysanthemum, the central flower of the bouquet, emphasises the beautiful red dress of the woman in the bottom right-hand corner of the painting.
Our florists transcribe this nature with a delicate assembly of shapes and coloured touches, inviting us, like Friedrich's work, to a meditative introspection where dream and reality brush up against each other and intermingle.

Aquarelle's artisan florists and the Ecole du Louvre have collaborated to create a capsule collection of flower bouquets inspired by the works of art of the master painters.
In the same way that a painter uses canvas, paint brushes and paints for their creation, our florists have conceived and composed the bouquets of the collection with a fresh floral colour palette.
They apply the same approach, using similar gestures to create a unique and personal creation.
The aim? To put art at the heart of the everyday, in order to discover or rediscover paintings through bouquets which translate the colours, style and spirit of the artwork.
