Moulin Rouge

Every evening in 19th century Paris, on the mound of Montmartre, you might happen across some amorous characters lingering by the Moulin Rouge, where all the excitement took place. Feathers, lights, flamboyant dresses : the whirling dancers reflect the joyful drunkenness of the crowd who flock to see the extravagant shows at this cabaret.
The signature “E. Villefroy” can be seen in around twenty posters of the end of the 19th century. Each one of them is created using the stamp printing technique : an image obtained by printing from an original engraving or drawing. In all of the artist's work, you can see the vivid and bright colours of the Moulin Rouge poster.
This bouquet features apricot lisianthus, yellow roses and red anemones which pay homage to the festive moodof the painting. The fronds of pampas are reminiscent of the great feathers affixed to the ladies' headdresses. Our artisan florists have created this bouquet with all the elegance and brightness of the evening parties of the 'Belle Époque', or Beautiful Era.
The Moulin Rouge is a venue for balls and entertainment : illuminated at night to be visible from the Grands Boulevards, it has become one the the icons of Paris. The skilfully assembled flowers of our composition evoke the charm of the guests at the Moulin Rouge. In its yellow, red and pink shades, our bouquet reflect an enchanting Paris.

Aquarelle's artisan florists and the Ecole du Louvre have collaborated to create a capsule collection of flower bouquets inspired by the works of art of the master painters.
In the same way that a painter uses canvas, paint brushes and paints for their creation, our florists have conceived and composed the bouquets of the collection with a fresh floral colour palette.
They apply the same approach, using similar gestures to create a unique and personal creation.
The aim? To put art at the heart of the everyday, in order to discover or rediscover paintings through bouquets which translate the colours, style and spirit of the artwork.
For this third collection, Aquarelle aims to celebrate the visual arts.
